Clean Up Australia Day

When rubbish is gone, nature can carry on! With Clean Up Australia Day fast approaching, City of Parramatta is calling on everyone to help clean up the Parramatta area and allow the local environment to carry on in its clean and natural state.

Each year, over 3,000 tonnes of litter are collected from roadways, town centres and waterways in Parramatta. The area's waterways and bush reserves are suffering the most from the litter issue because they tend be a depository for litter when rubbish like bottles and coffee cups make their way from land to water. In addition, due to their relative remoteness, they are not being cleaned up as often as our roads and town centres.

If you would like to help clean up one of the many creeks and bushland reserves, please check the link below to find one near you.

You might discover a new bushwalk or creek while doing a clean-up!
