City of Parramatta Council’s Annual Community Grants provide an annual funding opportunity for the Parramatta Local Government Area. The grants support local not-for-profit community-based groups, organisations, social enterprises, sports clubs and services and in some cases individuals. 

Annual Community Grants include:

COMMUNITY CAPACITY BUILDING GRANT focuses on delivering social, recreational and cultural benefits to Parramatta’s community. The funding cap is $10,000 for organisations with paid staff and $5,000 for those with 100% volunteer staff. A total pool of $225,000 is available across the year.

GROWING SOCIAL ENTERPRISE IN PARRAMATTA funds existing social enterprises that have demonstrated their ability to be sustainable and achieve high-impact on their social mission, and are seeking to grow and expand their operations. The funding cap is $25,000 and a total pool of $75,000 is available across the year.

CREATIVE PROJECT LEVERAGING FUND aims to support professional groups and organisations with creative projects in the Parramatta region. This category is open to all art forms, including but not limited to, music, sculpture, dance and film/video. The funding cap is $20,000 and a total pool of $60,000 is available across the year.

CREATIVE FELLOWSHIP FUND aims to support the development of new work and/or the professional development of Parramatta artists and creative workers. This category is open to all art forms. The funding cap is $20,000 for one fellow across the year.

CULTURAL HERITAGE AND STORIES RESEARCH FUND supports research projects that add to sharing the knowledge of Parramatta’s cultural and heritage history. The funding cap is $5,000 and a total pool of $20,000 is available across the year.

But don’t forget that City of Parramatta’s Quarterly Grants and Representative Sports Grant are open year round.

SMALL GRANTS FUND is a quick and easy way to secure funding for small scale projects. The funding cap is $2,000 per application and a total pool of $40,000 is available across the year.

SPORT AND RECREATION GRANT is an effective way to obtain resources and equipment within local sport and recreation clubs. The funding cap is $2,000 per application and a total pool of $40,000 is available across the year.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE BUSINESS PLANNING GRANT is a great resource to support existing social enterprises and not-for-profit organisations who would like to start a social enterprise access professional services. The funding cap is $2,000 per application and a total pool of $40,000 (shared with the Small Grants Fund) is available across the year.

REPRESENTATIVE SPORTS GRANT is a fast track category designed to support people who are excelling at sport and representing Parramatta at a state, national or international level. The funding cap is 25% of competition expenses up to $1,000 per application.

Council is running a number of Information Sessions to help prospective applicants.
