Team Up supports peer networks of people with disability in NSW. Their free training programs aim to help people learn more about peer support. They are offering two training programs in Western Sydney in early 2018, a 4-day program focused on one-to-one peer mentoring and a 2-day introductory peer facilitator program.

Peer Mentor Training – 4 Day Training
27 February & 6, 13 & 20 March 2018, 10.00am–4.00pm
Relationships Australia Training Room, 601/126 Church St, Parramatta

This program is focused on training one-to-one peer mentors. Team Up recommend doing their Intro to Peer Support training first.

Training will include:

  • Key skills in one-to-one mentoring.
  • Handling difficult conversations.
  • Ending a mentoring relationship, yet building a movement.

Peer Facilitator Training – 2 Day Training
26 & 27 March,9. 30am–3.00pm
Relationships Australia Training Room, 601/126 Church St, Parramatta

Team Up recommend doing their Intro to Peer Support training before this course.

This introductory facilitator training program includes:

  • Differences and similarities between facilitators and trainers.
  • Skills you can learn to become a facilitator of a peer group.
  • General tips and tricks for facilitators.

All of Team Up’s training is by peers for peers.
